Privacy Policy
ZeroSort is designed around local-first notes, optional cloud services, and clear user control over where content goes.
Last updated: April 28, 2026
The short version
Your notes are stored locally by default. Website accounts are used to purchase and manage license keys, the desktop app does not require login, and Pro features are activated with license keys. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices.
Information we handle
The desktop app stores your notes, folders, tags, settings, model configuration, and workspace data on your device unless you enable optional features that send data elsewhere.
If you create an account on the ZeroSort website to purchase or manage license keys, we process account information such as your name, email address, password authentication data, session cookies, license keys, and related account activity.
We may receive basic technical information from website requests, such as IP address, browser details, timestamps, and pages requested, to keep the site reliable and secure.
How we use information
We use website account and license information to authenticate you on the website, process purchases, provide dashboards, manage and activate license keys, prevent abuse, and operate the website and update services.
We use technical information to diagnose problems, protect the service, understand whether public pages and downloads work correctly, and improve ZeroSort.
AI features
When you use AI features in the desktop app, the content you select or provide may be sent to the AI provider or custom endpoint you configure. This can include note text, selected text, prompts, and context needed to complete the requested action.
ZeroSort does not control third-party AI providers. Their processing, retention, and training practices are governed by the provider settings and policies you choose.
Cloud sync and storage
Cloud sync is optional and uses the S3-compatible storage endpoint you configure. Sync data is intended to be encrypted before it leaves your device, and your storage provider may still process metadata needed to store and deliver objects.
Access keys, bucket names, endpoints, and sync state are used to connect the desktop app to your chosen storage provider. You are responsible for the provider account and credentials you supply.
Security and retention
We use reasonable safeguards for the website, account system, and license services. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so keep your account credentials and cloud storage credentials protected.
We keep account and license records for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Local note data remains under your control on your device unless you export, sync, or send it to another service.
Your choices
You can use the desktop app without logging in, activate Pro features with a valid license key, choose whether to configure AI providers, and choose whether to enable cloud sync.
You may update or delete local data through the app and may request access, correction, or deletion of website account data through the support channels provided by ZeroSort.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as ZeroSort changes. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
